NYC for NYE
January 7, 2010
It’s a common belief that the New Year is one of the most frustrating events on the calendar. It’s most likely that everyone is contending with being broke, being pressured to have a “good time”, ill from the cold and having indulged too much over Christmas or just not bothered to leave their warm refuge to join the hoards of people who congregate, shivering, to watch a pyrotechnic show in the damp, cold, drizzle. Or if that is not on the last-minute agenda, there is always the option of paying an arm and a leg to get into an overcrowded club with overpriced drinks and over (or under) dressed people. For those reasons, I’m out. I prefer to be away for New Years and this year was no exception. New York was the destination and I’d be hard pressed to think of a better way to see in the new decade.
